Bacteria feed on mucus and the dead cells that your body produces when it\u2019s battling a sinus infection, leaving you with a stingy mouth.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Dry mouth:<\/strong> Saliva plays a major role in your dental health \u2013 and thus your breath. It rinses away unwanted leftovers and helps to break down food by using natural enzymes, supplies minerals that help prevent cavities and infections, and provides disease-fighting substances. If you don&#8217;t make enough saliva, you could experience halitosis due to the lack of all the above factors. A dry mouth can be caused by medications, certain medical conditions, alcohol or tobacco use, or excessive caffeine intake.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><strong>Smoking and tobacco:<\/strong> Tobacco products wreak havoc on your entire body and the first victim is your mouth. Not only do many tobacco products leave their own odor on your breath; but they can also dry out your mouth causing an increase in the number and type of dangerous bacteria. Brush twice and do not rush it folks! Give it 2 minutes of your day at least twice daily and Invest in a good fluoride toothpaste and floss.<\/p><p>If bad breath persists, check in with your dentist.
